From behind the camera to lash and brow artistry
The story behind The Lash Lab begins behind the camera.
Before becoming a lash and brow artist, founder Apple Ramos spent eight years working professionally as a photographer across Qatar and Dubai, including working with VIP clients and royal families.
Photography became much more than a career. It shaped the way Apple sees people, faces and beauty.
Behind every photograph are small decisions, how light falls across the face, which features naturally draw the eye and how proportion, symmetry and composition influence the overall image.
Over years of photographing people, Apple developed a trained eye for detail, facial proportions, shape and balance.
She also learned something that would eventually become fundamental to The Lash Lab:
Beautiful results rarely come from applying the same formula to everyone. They come from understanding the individual.
From photography to lash artistry
When Apple discovered lash artistry, that way of seeing immediately felt familiar.
The canvas had changed, but many of the principles hadn't.
Instead of composing an image through a camera, she was working directly with the eyes and face. Instead of considering lighting, angles and framing, she was thinking about lash length, curl, direction, density and mapping.
But the fundamental question remained the same:
What will complement the person in front of me?
That question became the foundation of The Lash Lab.
Rather than approaching lash extensions as a collection of standard looks, Apple considers each client's natural lashes, eye shape, facial features, lifestyle and desired result before designing a set.
Her photography background influences that process, while specialist beauty education provides the technical foundation behind her work.
Apple has invested in training with ALS Lash Academy, Marilash Beauty Academy, Kohana Professional and OTL Brows, and continues to develop her skills as her artistry evolves.
Technique matters. Products matter. Application matters.
But artistry comes from knowing how to bring those elements together for the individual.
A different approach to lashes and brows
The Lash Lab began with a particular focus on lashes, but brows became a natural extension of Apple's approach.
Lashes draw attention to the eyes, while brows help frame them. Looking at one without considering the other can overlook the overall balance of the face.
That relationship connects naturally with the principles Apple learned through photography:
Composition. Proportion. Balance. Symmetry.
Today, lash and brow mapping plays an important role in her work. Apple considers the relationship between the eyes, lashes, brows and facial features to create a result that feels balanced and individual.
It is why the philosophy behind The Lash Lab can be expressed quite simply:
Don't simply design the lashes.

Beauty that still feels like you
Apple's philosophy isn't about making every client look dramatic.
Nor is it about making everyone look natural.

The objective isn't to impose a particular Lash Lab look.

The photographer's eye remains
Although Apple no longer spends her working days behind a camera, photography remains deeply embedded in the way she approaches her artistry.
It taught her to observe before making changes, notice details that can easily be overlooked and understand how individual features relate to the whole.
Those principles now live within every appointment at The Lash Lab.
The tools have changed.
The canvas has changed.
But the eye behind the work hasn't.
By investing in ongoing education and continually developing her artistry, Apple ensures her work remains modern, refined and on trend while maintaining the considered approach at the heart of the studio.
A boutique studio built around people
The Lash Lab is intentionally boutique because Apple believes the experience matters just as much as the finished result.
From consultation and mapping through to the final reveal, clients are given time to talk about what they like, what they don't and how they want to feel when they leave.
